Shield Arms magazines are steel, and the factory Glock mag catch is polymer. We build each series to run steel on steel, so swap in the matching Shield Arms catch once. New to Shield Arms? Each Starter Kit pairs a magazine with its catch.
Which Shield Arms Magazine Fits My Glock?
Shield Arms makes steel-body aftermarket magazines in three series, each sized for a Glock platform. Each holds more rounds than the factory magazine in nearly the same footprint.
- Glock 43: Z-Series. The Z8 holds 8 rounds flush; the Z9 holds 9 at the length of a factory mag with a pinky extension.
- Glock 43X and 48: S-Series. The S15 holds 15 rounds flush, the S20 holds 20, and the S10 fits grip-chopped frames.
- Glock 19: DS-Series DS18, 18 rounds.
- Glock 17, 34, 45, 47 and 19X: DS-Series DS20, 20 rounds.
- Every series runs with a Shield Arms steel mag catch and is backed by a lifetime warranty and Spring for Life.

Pistol Magazine FAQ
Will a Shield Arms mag change how my pistol carries?
Very little. The S15 and Z8 sit flush, the Z9 matches a factory mag with a pinky extension, and the DS18 and DS20 add only a minimal amount of length.
Do I have to replace my mag catch?
Yes. Each series is built to run with a Shield Arms steel catch in place of the factory polymer catch. A Starter Kit includes the magazine and the catch.
Can I add more capacity later?
Yes. Extensions take an S15 to 17, 20 or 25 rounds and a Z9 to 10 or 12. See the S-Series and Z-Series pages.
What is Spring for Life?
